Into the Pacific

We woke up to glassy water on the morning we were headed into the Pacific. Thick fog developed making us thankful for the radar as we dodged fishing boats we couldn’t see. The fog cleared, and the seas were calm enough that we got to shoot the hole – taking the inside route between Tatoosh Island and Cape Flattery which is only ~0.3nm wide with two large rocks in the middle as we exited the strait. As we left the strait, a humpback swam along with us and waved goodbye with its tail.

I remember tracking you guys when you made the left turn and seeing you go into the gap and was like… wow! Glad it was calm and your captain had experience. Gorgeous photo of sunset hour…
